Eco-Friendly Waste Disposal

The WasteMedX mission

WasteMedX helps you heal the planet as well as patients. We do this through an eco-friendly waste treatment and disposal process that minimizes pollutants and reduces costs.

Our story

Since 2016

Headquartered in Indiana, WasteMedX was founded by the Miller brothers, whose expertise in hospital construction brought them into close contact with facilities managers around the country. Tim and Tom noted during their many construction projects how inefficient and expensive most hospitals’ waste disposal processes truly were.

In 2016, Tim and Tom had an opportunity to witness the brand-new ozone treatment process, and they instantly knew it would be a gamechanger for bio-hazardous medical waste disposal. They founded WasteMedX on the belief that hospital waste treatment and disposal could be more efficient, less costly, and help hospitals achieve their sustainability goals.

The Vortex ozone treatment chamber, as well as the many services offered by WasteMedX, are now revolutionizing waste disposal processes around the country. Learn more about our process here, and find out more about Tim, Tom, and the entire WasteMedX team below.

Tim Miller

CEO

With over three decades in the healthcare field, Tim Miller, a Butler University alum with a chemistry and zoology degree, began his career on the front lines of patient care. He launched his professional journey as a distributor for a pacemaker company, but it was his groundbreaking development of the first mobile cardiac catheterization lab in the U.S. that established his position as a changemaker. Tim’s project ultimately led to the placement of mobile and modular healthcare buildings in 48 states, serving hundreds of imaging centers, ASCs and hospitals.

During his work, Tim became aware of poor sterilization cycles and time delays in medical waste practices. He also recognized several flaws in traditional medical waste disposal methods, particularly incineration and its contribution to air pollution. In response, he co-founded WasteMedX with his brother in 2016, proposing ozone-based treatment technology as a safer, faster and greener alternative to traditional incineration methods. Through WasteMedX, Tim continues to reshape one of healthcare’s most overlooked challenges, one that reflects his lifelong commitment to environmental responsibility.

He co-founded WasteMedX with his brother to provide a sustainable and cost-effective alternative to the status quo.

Under Tom’s and Tim’s leadership, WasteMedX has introduced an innovative ozone-based treatment technology that reduces waste volume and drastically cuts greenhouse gas emissions compared to conventional processes. Tom’s strategic vision has been introduced to hospitals worldwide to help with operational costs, meet the government’s environmental and sustainability goals, and improve the planet’s quality of life.
